Jack Arts partners with the New Acts of the Year awards 2017

Jack Arts is excited to be partnering with the New Acts of the Year awards 2017 (NATYS), to show our support for new talent in the world of comedy. We’ve been helping to spread the word about this campaign by putting up a series of posters around London.

NATYS has a really strong heritage – it was started by our long-term friend Roland Muldoon back in the 1980’s, at the iconic Hackney Empire. The annual competition continues to play a big role in the live comedy scene, helping the latest wave of new talent make their way onto the national circuit – encouraging a diverse range of acts including classic stand-up to specialty. Previous contestants have included; Stewart Lee, Russell Brand, Jack Whitehall, Nina Conti, Nina Conti, Linda Smith, Bilal Zafar, just to name a few.

In 2017 over 100 ‘new acts’ auditioned, from which a bill of 14 acts have now been selected  and will receive a paid booking to perform at the NATYS 2017 Top of the Bill comedy showcase – this will be hosted by Arthur Smith at the Leicester Square Theatre, on the 29th of January 2017. At this final, a panel of comedy industry VIPs will select the winner. If you’re up for an afternoon of laughs you can purchase tickets from the Leicester Square Theatre’s website.
